CAST BRONZE. Ø 13 CM
I dedicated my triptych to the wonderful, fantastic city of Venice as my sincere thanks for one of the most joyful and pleasant shocks in my life.
Many centuries ago the idea of the exuberant, colorful carnival had a social background. Once in a year, a citizen, wearing a mask, among the rest like him in the crowd, could speak out loud his demands and claims to the local administration without being afraid of being recognized and punished. So it was easier and happier to live further on.
And the today’s carefree crowd has gathered here in order to mess around without restraint, be happy, after having decorated themselves with the traditional wonderful masks, which have become a serious income item of the local art handicraft.
