CAST BRONZE, MARBLE.

During the International symposium held in the Moravian town of Uherske Hradiste, every participant had to cast five medals during one month, and if he wished and could (provided one had the power still) – one sculpture. 

An idea came to me to cut out of a wax plate the flat figure of the Mother of God from the Deesis composition, where St. John the Baptist and the Blessed Virgin Mary address Jesus Christ with the pray for the whole humankind. Then, as if by the order, the proper piece of marble found itself, and the sculptural composition was ready. 

Archimandrite Tikhon (Agrikov) made a marvellous remark: "She is the only with us – the Queen of Heaven, but how many tender names, full of gratitude, the orthodox Christians gave to her... It seems that there is no other more strong and exact name for Her than the Intercessor, Presbyter, Intercessor with God for the whole orthodox Christians... When dying, Our Lord Jesus Christ handed us all to Her beneficence. And since that time Her mother's love has no peace, the holy Mother of God has no other work but to take care of us".
